The Way we Worship
Family Worship Sundays 10:30am
Our main worship each week is designed for all ages. Members and friends come from all over the Ashford area, and as a town centre church we frequently have visitors who are always made most welcome.
Everyone shares in the first part of our worship, which includes praise and confession, an item primarily for the children and young people, notice of the weekly events and the offering. After this the children and young people go to their own groups in Junior Church.
Worship is led by one of our ministers, lay preachers, or a visiting preacher, though others in the church share in providing music, reading lessons, etc. We usually follow the Common Lectionary - a set of readings each Sunday over a three-year period to include all the great themes of the Bible - on which the sermon is based. The style of worship varies a little week by week, depending on the theme, the season, and special services (e.g. parade and family services) which are announced in advance.
The sacrament of Holy Communion is celebrated monthly (usually the 3rd Sunday morning).
The format does not necessarily follow that provided in the Service Books of either of our denominations, but is compatible with them.
Sunday 6:30pm
We do not hold evening services every Sunday.
